Neuschwanstein CastleNeuschwanstein Castle is a palatial residence perched atop a hill in Bavaria, Germany. It was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria to become his retreat house. When Ludwig II died in 1896, Neuschwanstein Castle was opened to the public, giving a glimpse of what is inside its magnificent facade. It was the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle.
